LOGLINE: A recovered, sex-trafficked teen must navigate through the healing process to find hope, identity and a new home.
SUMMARY: Our film will explore the dynamics of sexual exploitation as related to the various home life backgrounds of sex-trafficked victims, as well as the work of Wellspring Living, a Christian-based nonprofit in Atlanta, GA — transforming the lives of those at risk or victimized by sexual exploitation. For almost 25 years, they have provided transformative care through three service pillars: housing, healing and education. They are a leader in the nation for comprehensive care through residential, counseling, spiritual, education, community and post-support programs. Featuring stories of those who have transitioned to discovering their place in the world, what makes this project unique is that it will focus on the restorative and redemptive aspects of a survivor’s process to healing and wholeness. Moreover, the film will also employ a combination of interviews with narrative cinematic storytelling style, centering on one girl’s journey of “finding home”.
